Davenport, North Shore
Davenport is a gorgeous suburb to live in. You could live right by the beach and still not be too far away from the city. Davenport is just 3.7kms away from the Sky Tower in Auckland Central. It is also one of the most expensive suburbs in all of Auckland and would cost you $1,492,767 to buy a 3 bedroom house. If you are looking to rent, it’ll cost you about $738 per week.
Takapuna, North Shore
Takapuna beats our list with an average of $1,493,100 to buy rental property and if you are renting, it is about $681 per week, which is surprisingly lesser than some of the other suburbs like Northcote point that could cost you up to $788 a week on average.
Takapuna, is of course, known for its busy white-sand beaches and seaside cades and lake Pupuke which is popular for boating. There are a lot of restaurants around the beach, which means you have no need to go to the city centre all the way. But even if you did, it is only 20 minutes away, so totally worth considering this suburb to live in.
Albany, North Shore
Albany is one of the most northernmost suburbs in the North Shore. It is popularly known for its shopping and retail stores. If you are keen to buy property in the North Shore, but don’t want to spend a bit lesser, then Albany is a great option. It is one of the cheaper suburbs in the North Shore and costs about $997,941 to buy a house. If you are looking to rent, it’ll cost you $595 for a week.
There’s lots to do around Albany. There are golf courses, restaurants, cinemas and shopping centres and you won’t be far away from the beaches too!
Birkdale, North Shore
Birkdale is one of the cheapest suburbs in the North Shore. If you are looking to invest, it’ll cost you about $788,727 to buy a home and to rent, you’d have to pay around $500 on average to live here.
Birkdale is not the safest suburb, not it does have its good and bad sides. So, if you are thinking of moving, best to do some investigating before deciding to move or buy a house!

Similar to Birkdale, Glenfield also has different sides to it, which means you should check it out to figure which parts of it are not-so-good.
