Discover the Mythical Beasts at Tudor Garden, Hamilton
What better way to kickstart spring than going to the Hamilton Gardens! You can actually experience spring in its true sense.
There is an everyday trail at Tudor Gardens, which is part of Hamilton Gardens. The place is filled with mythical beasts and beautiful knot garden, something that kids will enjoy discovering.
As for the adults, you could enjoy all the theme gardens like the Japanese Garden of Contemplation or the flower packed Indian Char Bagh Garden.
Hamilton Half Marathon
What better time to run than the beginning of Spring! Not too warm or too chilly!
Prep yourself to run a marathon at the Flagstaff Park at the end of September!
There are different events, so you could do a 5k walk or run, 10k or if you are feeling brave, do the half marathon!
Hamilton Paint and Wine
The Waikato hot air balloon festival is not too far away. This five-day event is the most popular annual event that is held in Hamilton!
Paintvine is a fun social painting night organised to get your creativity going. Just grab a drink and a paintbrush and paint your imagination away of what you think the annual balloon festival would look like.
Painting is super relaxing and known to be a great stress buster. So make sure to check this event out!
Live Music Nights
Who doesn’t like music! With the start of Spring, there are plenty of live music nights happening all over the city.
If you like Jazz, there’s Jazz nights at Dough Bros on Victoria Street. You can go out to dinner and enjoy some good live jazz. The admission is free too!
They’ve got musicians from all over coming to perform, so worth checking out if you enjoy jazz.
There’s also blues night every Thursday at the Biddy Mulligan’s Irish Pub, where you get to listen to a bunch of musicians, socialise and just have fun.
Marvel Movie Marathon
For all you Marvel movie fans out there, Hoyts is running a Marvel Movie Marathon the whole of September. You’ve got pretty much every single film from the Marvel collection playing every day.
There’s the Avengers, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Captain America and more.
If you are not a big Marvel fan, there’s also some other films releasing this month. There’s the much awaited Johnny English: Strikes Again starring the hilarious Rowan Atkinson, Ladies in Black (adapted from the novel by Madeleine St John), and Smallfoot, about a cute little Yeti.
Perfect for a mid-week indulgence.
Hamilton Night Market
It’s Friday night and what better to do than eat some delicious street food at the Hamilton Night Market?
The night market kicks off at 5pm and is open till 11pm every Friday at The Base on Te Rapa Road.
You get amazing street food and delicacies from cuisines all over the world.
A good way to kickstart the weekend.
Hamilton Farmers Market
Turn your grocery shopping into a fun day out at the Waikato Farmers market right in the heart of Hamilton.
They have some great fresh, local produce that’s a lot cheaper than what you’d get at the supermarket.
You can combine your grocery shopping with some live entertainment and have brunch in the outdoor sitting area at the market.
Exciting isn’t it! They’ve got free parking too!
